About
Hi, I’m Duncan — AKA The Historical Runner.
In March 2020, as London went into lockdown, I started what I thought would be a very normal fitness journey. Little did I know it would be anything but.
I began using running as a way to explore London. One day I ran down to Churchill’s statue in Parliament Square; another day I ran to Albert Bridge by Battersea Park. Somewhere along the way, I started an Instagram account, sharing the stories of the places I visited and I haven’t stopped since.
What began as a hobby inspired me to pursue history further. In 2023, I enrolled on a course to become a Lambeth Tour Guide, and passed my final exam in 2024.
Since then, I’ve been leading walks in Kennington, South London – even showing the Duchy of Cornwall around their very own stomping ground in December 2025.
This website is now the next chapter in the journey. Stay tuned for new walks in historical locations around London and regular blog posts about the places I visit.
I hope to see you on a walk some time soon!
